US131 Motorsports Park was host to the Extreme Sport Compact race. It wasn’t a great turnout, but there is much potential by catering to this type of auto enthusiast. Check out the pics.

Craftsman Truck Race
On the same weekend as the Silver Crown race, Nascar Craftsman Trucks took their shot at Indianapolis Raceway Park’s tight oval. I was joined by Indianapolis Star employee Mike Matthews.

USAC Silver Crown
Indianapolis Raceway Park hosted the J.D. Byrider 100 for the USAC Silver Crown cars. Jay Drake would start on the pole and lead all 100 laps. Drake’s car is part owned by Tony Stewart.

APBA Boat Racing
American Legion Post 223 hosted the latest APBA title series race in Constantine, MI. With engines that max out at 500cc you wouldn’t expect much speed – you’d be wrong.

Pro Hot-Rod Nationals
The power adders (Nitrous, blower, turbo) were on full display at US131 Motorsports Park. It was a hot day on and off the track at the Pro HotRod Muscle Car Nationals.

I always wanted to go to the salt flats, but never had the opportunity. Well, with Greg Stokes road trip submission, you and I will get the next best thing.

Snowmobile Grass Drags

Michigan State Championships
Boy did we have some great racing weather on Saturday night! There were 3 series that were not a normal part of the show at Kalamazoo Speedway. The Allison Legacy Series, US PRO and USA Modifieds.

IHRA Northern Nats
Bev and I got great photo access for this race and the picture show it – great wheels up photos from Stock and Super Stock. Yes, also some Hooters Girls.

World of Outlaws
The big boys finally came to town and Bev and I had guardrail seats. In fact, I was shocked how close we got to the action – I spent most of my time behind a cement post.

ASA Meijer 250
Previously, teams had to have established engine programs and engine builders had to have considerable knowledge of the V6 engines. Now, all the teams are on a level playing field in the engine department, allowing new teams to be competitive much sooner.

Soap Box Derby
Established in 1934, The All-American Soap Box Derby Championship is held annually in Akron, OH and is comprised of 400 qualifiers from the U.S. and foreign countries.
